Battery operated toy submarine modeled after the USS Nautilus, the first nuclear submarine, balsa wood construction with small lead pellets added as ballast, twin electric engines powered by large rectangular batteries, submarine measures 36 inches from bow to tip of propellers x 9.5 inches from hull to topmost part of coning tower, weighs approximately 7 pounds. Includes a wooden display stand. An interesting piece of work, most likely a father-son project from the late 1950s to mid 1960s. NOTE: No in-house shipping available. Arranging shipping of this property is the responsibility of the buyer. Buyer may work with any independent shipper or Jones & Horan can recommend one. Buyer will need to complete the Authorized Release Form found on Jones & Horan's website. Property will remain at Jones & Horan until picked up by the buyer or someone authorized by the buyer.
CONDITION: Operational condition unknown, batteries appear to be original to the construction of the piece, submarines hull is missing light paint in places and the top doesn't fit perfectly as it has likely moved over time, please review images or preview in person before bidding.
